Charles Senkler (co-owner of Fern’s), a great friend and boss, past away suddenly this weekend.
Senkler worked in the food and beverage industry for more than 30 years. In addition to owning Fern’s, he owned several other restaurants and bars over the years, including Billy’s on Grand.
He was a well-known speaker and published writer in the food and beverage world. In addition, Senkler consulted with and designed spaces for hospitality companies around the country, including Walt Disney Development, Radisson Hotel Corporation and the Bowling Corporation of America.
He is survived by his son, daughter, and three grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Willwerscheid Funeral Home on Grand Avenue.
